At BossTek®, we are dedicated to serving others and strengthening the society in which we operate. Our team values making a positive impact and constantly strives to help improve lives for those in need by adopting a culture of volunteerism. Every year, BossTek employees seek out ways to contribute to our community, both locally and around the world.
We are excited to officially announce our latest initiative, Cannons for a Cause. The campaign was developed to help raise awareness and provide support for charitable organizations across the US. We understand that grassroots efforts rely on exposure from their partners and sponsors to gain visibility and obtain the resources necessary to provide services. Our goal for this initiative is to provide such opportunities and help make a lasting impact that extends far beyond the industries we serve.
Throughout the year, we will be selecting various causes and creating custom-wrapped DustBoss® cannons to highlight our Cannons for a Cause partners. We're kicking off the new campaign this April in support of Autism Awareness Month. The inaugural cannon will benefit Surfers Healing, a charitable organization that offers free surf camps for individuals with autism.

SURFERS HEALING: RIDING THE WAVES
Surfers Healing serves thousands with a mission to enrich the lives of people living with autism by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing. Israel and Danielle Paskowitz founded Surfers Healing because of their son, Isaiah. When Isaiah would experience meltdowns and sensory overload, spending time in the ocean riding waves with his father calmed him like nothing else.
Since not everyone has a championship surfer for a dad, the Paskowitz family invited others to join them at the beach. As the idea gained traction, Surfers Healing was founded and is now a nationwide, grassroots non-profit organization. Serving thousands of people a year, the organization has a simple yet powerful moto - "One Perfect Day" - focusing their efforts to effect change in the lives one child, one family, by providing that one perfect day at the beach.
BossTek is proud to partner with Surfers Healing to make a positive impact on children, families and surrounding communities. By embracing their values, we hope to inspire others to find ways to help out and make a difference. It can truly change lives.
RAISE AWARENESS
In effort to increase visibility for charitable organizations and the causes we support, BossTek will be creating custom decals that incorporate their mission. These decals will be wrapped onto a DustBoss® cannon within our rental fleet and will help raise awareness while out on the job.
DustBoss units are shipped all across the U.S. (and Canada) providing an excellent opportunity for additional exposure. Our hope is that others will see our Cannons for a Cause and will be inspired to find out more about the organization. We encourage everyone to find a way to give back and get involved!

Non-profit organizations, such as Surfers Healing, rely on volunteers, sponsors and charitable contributions to provide the support and services they offer. Surfers Healing hosts their surf camps free of charge to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all.
BossTek will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each specific unit in our Cannons for a Cause fleet to provide additional support to the corresponding organization. Our approach for this campaign is two-fold and while raising awareness is important, providing financial support to organizations like Surfers Healing is essential.

ABOUT AUTISM
Autism is a bio-neurological developmental disability that affects 1 in 54 children. Autism impacts the development of the brain in areas of social interaction, communication skills and cognitive function. Individuals with autism typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interaction and leisure or recreational activities[1]. The prevalence of autism has steadily grown over the years and despite being the fastest growing developmental disorder, it's the most underfunded. While there is currently cure, early intervention and treatment can greatly improve the diverse symptoms in many cases.
According to a study by the Interactive Autism Network, 63% of individuals with autism ages 6 to 15 have been bullied at some point in their lives. In many cases, bullying begins with words like weird or odd or different. Together, we have the power to change their meaning.
By education ourselves and increasing our understanding of autism, we can dismantle the associated stigma and help provide those impacted the support and assistance they need. There are a variety of resources available to learn more about autism and seek out opportunities to volunteer, donate or partner with organizations that serve people with autism and their support system.[2]
