Installation Bracket Aids Install of Conveyor Dust Suppression Ring

We've introduced a family of adjustable mounting brackets for the popular DustBoss® DB-R series of dust suppressors.

Developed in direct response to customer feedback, the new bracket design is available to suit the entire range of ring sizes from 42-72 inches, and can be installed in about an hour. The DB-R is engineered specifically for use at conveyor discharge points, designed to create a curtain of mist around the material flow for outstanding particle containment.

Because of the wide variation in conveyor designs, in the past we've left the mounting of the rings to the individual customer. But it was clear that customers looked to us for guidance. So now we've designed an adjustable bracket that can fit virtually any conveyor design, with movable arms to allow precise location of the atomized mist circle to match the specific conveyor, material and outflow.

First developed for a coal application, the DB-R fully encircles the discharging material to apply suppression directly as the flow exits the conveyor. With no moving parts, the simple yet effective engineering delivers focused dust suppression on a continuous-duty basis, able to capture fugitive particles on radial stackers and other offloading points with a durable, intrinsically safe design. The solution is straightforward but effective, and customers are finding that it’s well suited to conveyor discharge of sand, aggregates, biomass and other traditionally dusty materials.

For some bulk material handlers, it can be a very affordable alternative to more extensive dust management tactics. Larger operations are finding that the source-point suppression of the DB-R is the perfect complement to their open-area dust control measures.

The DB-R is currently available in nine standard sizes (17-100 in / 43.2-254 cm) in diameter. Available options for the DB-R include a booster pump to elevate low water pressures, a variety of nozzle sizes / configurations, and water filtration.

Conveyor Dust Control: Can Atomized Mist Lower Costs and Improve Air Quality?

January 23, 2023

You know you have a conveyor dust problem when you can see it from space. A 61-mile conveyor belt runs from the Moroccan-controlled Bou Craa phosphorus mines in Western Sahara to the coast. Built in 1972, this system conveys 2,000 metric tons of rock per hour to the port city of El-Aaiun. Although the conveyor

NEW DustBoss DB-10 Creates a Safer Workplace with Indoor Dust Control

January 12, 2023

Introducing a new model that suppresses indoor particulate emissions for industries such as demolition and raw material handling.  The compact DustBoss® DB-10 is the latest addition to BossTek’s line of atomized mist cannons.  Engineered for enclosed working environments, the easily maneuverable unit provides excellent suppression in a lightweight, portable design.  The outcome is effective indoor

Indoor Dust Suppression: How to Control Emissions in Enclosed Bulk Handling Operations

October 31, 2022

Many bulk handling industries enclose their operations to avoid emissions leaving the site line and drawing complaints from neighbors. When a company does this, it then turns its attention to indoor dust suppression to protect workers. Some enclosed operations like recycling and MSW intake centers have several points of emission. Other indoor activities like demolition

Dust Suppression Solutions Promote Safety and Compliance at Ports

September 20, 2022

Wind currents seek the path of least resistance such as basins (rivers, bays, etc.). These are natural features that concentrate and amplify the airflow. Unfortunately, these areas also happen to be the location of ports handling dusty substances, from aggregate to grain, requiring managers and operators to seek dust suppression solutions for ports and terminals.[1]

Silica Dust Control: Why It Matters for the Construction Industry

August 11, 2022

The construction industry has a dust problem. Tiny invisible crystalline silica dust to be specific. Although it wasn’t deemed a problem in the past doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. The difference between then and now is there are reams of studies, tests, and evidence from various educational and government sources proving it. The issue is

How An Outdoor Cooling Mist System Can Create Safer Events

July 7, 2022

It’s a beautiful day for a concert. The sun is out, and the high is predicted to be 85ºF. Organizers have taken everything into account for a safe and fun experience.
